James is a PhD Researcher at Cranfield University. His research is on Wire + Arc Additive Manufacturing of nickel superalloys for high temperature applications, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence and Department of Defense.

James received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University (USU) in 2020. While at USU he studied vibration-based fatigue testing in the Mechanics at Extreme Temperatures lab, in collaboration with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). James has presented work at conferences for the Society of Experimental Mechanics, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and oSTEM.
