Chong Wang is currently a Research Fellow in Additive Manufacturing at Cranfield University. He obtained his PhD degree in Manufacturing from Cranfield University in 2021. Prior to this, he obtained his MSc and BEng degrees in Mechanical Engineering from China University of Petroleum in 2017 and 2014, respectively. His research area is mainly focused on process development for wire-based metal additive manufacturing based on plasma arc, gas metal arc, and hybrid arc-laser processes, aiming to achieve defect-free and structurally-sound large-scale components.
