Zhiyong earned his PhD in Philosophy from the Institute of Mechanics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in July 2021. Prior to that, he held the position of Visiting Predoctoral Research Fellow at Northwestern University in Evanston, USA.
Following his graduation, Zhiyong worked as an Assistant Professor at CAS before joining Cranfield University's Welding and Additive Manufacturing Centre as a Research Fellow specializing in WAAM process modelling.
